Alto Jeffro – Whoopsie Doodle (+ more)

Alto Jeffro

Alto Jeffro’s been releasing more material lately than I could possibly tell you about at once. Jeff, Barny, sometimes Peter, and sometimes others, have been throwing song after EP after EP after EP into the world all summer (all year, really).

The Whoopsie Doodle EP consists of Whoopsie Doodle, I’ve got a Reason, Nervous/Cure us, Time Machine Part II, Between the Sheets, and It’s All Over Now. All the songs are up on their Soundcloud page. Chriss Angel Type Guys and Peter is an Inconsiderate Prick, both on that same page, make up another EP/single. And as a serious bonus, there’s Heaven & Hell, a great song that’s not on any release yet but is up for download and has its own official video!

P.S. Jeff just finished a new solo album called Purple Flame and you can hear it on Alto Jeffro’s second Soundcloud

No Sleep Tights – Blast

Blast

A couple months ago I (Will) had a house to myself for a while, and there was lots of open space around the house, and I could literally be as loud as I wanted at any time. Naturally I invited Chris Gross over to spend a whole night playing music, and this album was born. I seriously like listening to this album. I like it a lot. I hope you like it too! I have honestly been uncomfortable with my own level of love for it. Throbbing psychedelik drunk punk for you!

and so, Christopher Gross (of Gingerbred Kids / Gross / etc) and William Henriksen (of Impossibility / Perseus / etc) present:

A bunch of friendly faces played a house show in Amherst on Sunday, and there’s film of all 3 bands! If you weren’t there, you also missed a surprise bathroom screening of Brian Folan’s film “Fuck Me” starring Erik Brown and Amber Fetik. Ununi also showed up with fresh new t-shirts and CDs for the mortals

A combo consisting of Garth Brody Mark Schiffer and Will Henriksen (myself). They are all members of the band Perseus. Mark is also a member of Jack Nance. Will is also Impossibility. Garth has been in France for most of the recent past.
This album is all unplanned wrangling with sounds.

Will = microphone antics

Lineup on track 2:
Garth = guitar lunacy
Mark = tenor sax murder
Will = drum dum dum

Will Henriksen – “one person, a second person, a world, the second again, and a third joined in”

These words are all about things that are far away

ANY CHARACTER HERE
ANY CHARACTER HERE
ANY CHARACTER HERE

I love the music you made

nearly empty child I’m sorry
when your mind is gone I’ll run
when the look in your eyes is only out the window
I’ll stare and hope to see something good
but I’ll run

ANY CHARACTER HERE

200 years later

coming down from drugs
something we meant to do together
but coming down I thought
about how we were close and how very few times I’ve been close to someone
how I liked your bed and your face and back

ANY CHARACTER HERE

WE

sad people who want to kill all the gays
I don’t know you I don’t understand you

we all love and are all scared
we are all kids

ANY CHARACTER HERE

200 years later 2

you made music too
and your little voice fought through

ANY CHARACTER HERE

Art is crying

the fucking hopeless past tense
is a dream and I lost that sad situation
that book to be written
about a before love that will always be love and was mutual in the middle of the physical
and this is different
there were different people
they are always people
the only one is I and the rest are all
and we join and I sing
and when more sing we live

William Henriksen and Matthew Moro – Christmas Eve ’07

Matt and I have been friends forever. But this is probably the only recording we made together that hasn’t disappeared. Matt played guitar and said a few words, and I played keyboard/CDs/noise/vocals. 12/24/07. At that point, I liked noise music and didn’t like playing guitar. Matt liked playing guitar and wrote a gem of a song called Puppy Booty Camp, which we recorded and then lost and now lives a good life in the cosmic ether.

CHRISTMAS EVE MOTHERFUCKER

William Henriksen-Caffeine Addiction Pt XXX

Anti Mona Lisa

Excerpts from the huge amount of poetry I put on Facebook/my computer Oct 2010-Jan 2011. It’s too much for anyone to wade through, so I’m trying to organize some of them. These three are from November. Love live be kind to yourself.

The art of not wasting time

Goes earlier
Stands tall
Can I say that I miss something
When every past seems enticing
When I’m afraid that I’m calming down
When I remind myself: No, mood shifts

When my arms live in the past
When my head is standing on top of the house
When I become the cabin with chicken legs

When animation goes in and steals
And my daughter is gone
And the floor shakes and sinks

Stand tall, my arms
My legs, my feet
The Hydra, the standard-bearer, the sleepless
The art of dodging

Living in the location

the art is
slams into the hallway and falls
gasps
stares
animalism with motivation

self narration
who has ripped thoughts out of the present
who attempts to write a unique diary
which is impossible given the limitations of language and all communication

who sees this and says “fine that’s great” and digs a deeper hole
and hopes that it’s deep enough
and sleeps so he can wake up and continue to dig

and when you get near the center of the earth
it’s very hot and you are very far from the surface and those are the things you’ve accomplished
why did you do it?
well you see the laws of physics dictate that things happen and then they happen
I am no exception

I am made of dust

Christmas is time for lost desolate sounds
Eating scraps
Reading
Reading poor things
Looking for mirrors
Have you written a book yet
Why
Why are you acting in whatever way
Inside a building
Then in the street
How did I know that the flashlight was broken
By thinking of obvious things
And about how things turn and age
The criticism is: you don’t understand time
This criticism goes in all directions
Do you see the projection
Is there time to listen to all of them
Art is crying is the line
Staring in the face
DRAWING THE LINE IN THE STREET
Repeating and expecting an impossible current
The yell
The lies about passivity
The reply
The impossibility
The act of standing in a circle
The act of discovering and cowering from the real
The real is the scary
The unconfusing
The poor fact

The zipper
Wastes the weekend
Inviting blame
Begging for criticism
In this galaxy
The subconscious
Paper
Reduced
Landfills
Plastic
Toxic fills

Does the minimum see itself
In and out the door
Unifying its virtues
Smacking itself in the face
And away
Separating the ghost from itself
Sleeping on the couch
Does it live each day like its last
A choir sings
Does the last day hang out like a good guy
